Crop and Prepare a Product Photo

A practical workflow for square crops, color adjustments and choosing an export format.

Start with the whole image

Open Photo Editor and choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP. Keep an untouched copy of your original. The tool uses a working image up to 4,096 pixels per side, so a very large input may be reduced before editing.

Choose a crop that suits the destination

Choose 1:1 for a square listing image, 4:5 for a portrait post or Original proportions to retain the source shape. Move the crop by dragging, or enter pixel coordinates. In our 640×480 sample, a centered square crop keeps 480×480 pixels; cropping does not create missing detail.

Make small adjustments, then compare

Start with brightness, contrast and saturation near 100%. Change one control at a time. Our example uses brightness 108%, contrast 112% and saturation 120%, followed by a short caption. These values demonstrate the controls; a real product photo may need different settings. Reset restores the editing settings without replacing your selected file.

Export once at the right format

Use JPG for an opaque photograph, PNG when transparency matters or WebP when the destination supports it. JPG fills transparent areas with white. Repeated lossy exports can reduce quality, so return to the original when preparing another size. Inspect the downloaded file at its intended display size.
